Editor's Note
The American College Surgeons (ACS) on September 28 announced that the California State Legislature passed Assembly Bill 2260 that requires the installation of trauma bleeding control kits in newly constructed public and private buildings throughout the state.
After the legislation was passed, the ACS State Affairs team worked with ACS members in California to urge Gov Newsom to sign the bill.
STOP THE BLEED was launched in October 2015 by the White House with a call to action to equip more people with the skills and resources necessary to stop severe bleeding until professional help arrives.
The program is operated under a licensing agreement granted by the Department of Defense.
