ACS updates efforts to help Ukraine

In a March 28 update, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) says it is following the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine through Operation Giving Back, and that no current role or mechanism exists for safe travel to help in person at this time.

ACS notes that healthcare facilities appear to be well staffed but supplies and equipment are desperately needed.

Monetary donations and/or supplies can be made to:

• Ukrainian Medical Association of North America
• Cleveland Maidan Association
• Razom’s Emergency Response
• International Medical Corps
• Global Surgical and Medical Support Group
• Global Response Management to the Ukraine.

In addition, ACS is accepting donations through its STOP THE BLEED program to get supplies to people on the ground in Ukraine and Poland.
