AHA: Donations of medical supplies, equipment to aid Ukraine ‘urgently needed’

In a March 23 Special Bulletin, the American Hospital Association (AHA) shared more information on how US hospitals and health systems can support Ukraine and refugees. In the bulletin, AHA said that certain medical supplies and equipment are “urgently needed.”

Among the supplies and medicines listed are:

• baby items and supplies
• blankets, socks, and sleeping pads
• various sterile supplies, including suture needles
• phones, chargers, and solar-powered batteries
• antibiotics, blood/heart medication, and painkillers

AHA also announced in the bulletin that it has made a donation to the U.S. Ukraine Foundation, which has established a fund to cover the costs of sending medical supplies to Ukraine, among other humanitarian efforts. The U.S. Ukraine Foundation, in partnership with the AFYA Foundation, is coordinating the distribution of donated medical supplies via an operation called Ukraine AirLIFT. Parties interested in donating are being urged to contact the AFYA Foundation directly.
