The new app is being piloted by 10 physicians at the hospital, one of whom called it “life changing.” It not only provides a summary for patients, but it also translates medical terminology into less medically complex language for patients to better understand.
Physicians at the University of Kansas Health System spend up to 5 hours a day charting visits with patients, the article noted. With the app, this documentation time was reduced to an hour a day or less. Based on the promising beta testing over the past 2 months, the University of Kansas Health System is considering expanding the technology system-wide.
