Editor's Note
The American Medical Association (AMA) and its partners, including the American Medical Informatics Association, IBM, and Cerner, are developing an integrated platform for clinical informatics and big data analytics, the October 16 HealthIT Analytics reports.
The aim of the physician-led Integrated Health Model Initiative is to help healthcare organizations learn how to collect, organize, and exchange patient-centered data in a common structure and transform the data into accessible and actionable information.
The AMA says it hopes the initiative will provide at least a partial solution to physician dissatisfaction with electronic health records and the administrative burdens involved in using the current generation of health IT tools.
