ANA survey: Nurses support COVID-19 vaccinations, mandates, boosters

Data from a new survey of more than 4,500 nurses conducted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) in conjunction with the Johnson & Johnson-sponsored “COVID Vaccine Facts for Nurses” campaign finds that about 90% are vaccinated against COVID-19 or plan to be vaccinated.

Other findings from the survey include:

• 58% support mandatory vaccinations for all employees
• 91% are comfortable recommending the vaccine
• 64% say Food and Drug Administration approval of the vaccines does not influence their position
• 85% are willing to get a booster if recommended.

Nurses’ knowledge along with their front-line experience caring for COVID-19 patients is evident by the survey findings, an August 18 ANA report of the survey says.
