Best in OR Business Award goes to Tracy Raymond

The 2019 Best in OR Business Award was presented to Tracy Raymond, MHA, BHA, CRCST, CHL, during lunch on Tuesday, January 29. Raymond, perioperative services business manager at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois, has brought experience in managing central sterile departments to the business side of the OR equation, along with effective listening and communication skills that earned her high praise from colleagues.

“I can honestly claim her performance is above what I have ever experienced for a manager in her position,” says Sharon Skelton, MSN, RN, CNML, CAPA, nursing director medical/surgical/telemetry services. Skelton attributes this performance to characteristics such as Raymond’s extraordinary knowledge base, resourcefulness, active listening, and excellent critical thinking skills.

Colleagues also recognized Raymond for increased block utilization, creation of dashboards to increase efficiency, and successful negotiations with vendors to lower supply costs.
