The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on May 13 announced that fully vaccinated individuals can discard masks and do away with social distancing outdoors and in most indoor settings.
The agency still calls for wearing masks in crowded indoor settings, such as buses, planes, hospitals, prisons, and homeless shelters.
Fully vaccinated individuals also can resume most travel and do not need to quarantine after international trips or test if exposed to asymptomatic positive people who have tested positive.
A person is considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 2 weeks after getting the second Pfizer or Moderna shot or the same length of time after getting the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
