The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), on April 27, announced new interim public health recommendations on activities fully vaccinated people can resume with and without wearing a mask.
Among the recommendations:
- Fully vaccinated people can attend small gatherings outdoors with other vaccinated people or a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated people without wearing a mask.
- Fully vaccinated people can attend large outdoor gatherings, such as sporting events, concerts, and parades, if they wear masks.
- Fully vaccinated people should continue to wear masks indoors with unvaccinated people and outdoors in public spaces.
- Fully vaccinated people can walk, run, hike, or bike outdoors alone or with members of their household without wearing a mask.
- Fully vaccinated people can dine at outdoor restaurants with people from multiple households without wearing a mask.
This guidance applies to people who are fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration and the World Health Organization: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, and AstraZeneca/Oxford.
