Editor's Note
Aligning with a recent executive order promoting safe and effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is seeking input on what providers and others are doing with the technology.
Issued September 9, the Request for Information (RFI) invites healthcare providers, technology developers, and related organizations to submit demonstrations showcasing AI tools that could benefit CMS programs. The agency is particularly interested in AI technologies that support diagnostics, clinical decision support, predictive analytics, workforce enablement, and direct patient care, such as robotic-assisted delivery. Select organizations will be invited to present at CMS AI Demo Days on a rolling basis, with notifications beginning in October 2024.
Interested parties must submit responses by October 7, 2024. Questions regarding the RFI can be submitted until September 27, 2024.
