The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced May 17 that it has extended the Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) program data submission deadline from Monday, May 17, to Monday, July 19, 2021.
The extension provides ASCs with more time to obtain HARP [Health Care Quality Information Systems Access Roles, and Profile System] accounts for their quality data reporting.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) worked with CMS and the Health Services Advisory Group to advocate for the extension, which ASCA says recognizes the challenges faced by ASCs because of the COVID-19 pandemic and confusion about the new enrollment process this year.
