On May 4, ECRI announced that Guthrie Clinic, Sayre, Pennsylvania, is the winner of its 2023 Health Technology Excellence Award.
The annual award honors an organization that implements an exceptional initiative to improve patient safety, reduce costs, and facilitate better strategic management of health technology.
Guthrie Clinic won for its strategic approach to addressing staffing shortages made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Telesitting technology allows one clinician to monitor several patients at once, either remotely or from a central location in a healthcare system.
The Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, Baltimore, was runner-up for its development and implementation of a safety-event-reporting software application.
