Epic has the largest market share for hospital electronic health record (EHR) systems in the world, according to a July 8 report from Becker’s Health IT.
The company took the top spot after adding 203 hospitals and 24,117 beds outside the U.S. in 2023, with significant growth in Canada and Australia, Becker’s reports, citing data from KLAS Research. Oracle Health and Meditech also expanded, while Dedalus gained traction with major deals in Italy and Latin America.
According to Becker’s, KLAS Research reported 186 EHR purchases for 734 hospitals outside the U.S., a five-year high. In the U.S., Epic dominates with 39.1% market share, adding 153 hospitals last year, many switching from other EHR systems.
