FDA announces public workshop on management of cybersecurity in medical devices

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on October 17 announced a public workshop to discuss the newly released draft guidance: Content of Premarket Submissions for Management of Cybersecurity in Medical Devices.

The need for effective cybersecurity to ensure medical device function and safety has become more important with the growing use of wireless, internet- and network-connected devices as well as the frequent electronic exchange of device-related health information.

The workshop will be held January 29-30, 2019, at the FDA White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland. There will be a webcast of the workshop.
