Healthcare’s “Blockbuster Moment:” Dr Dan Weberg to deliver opening keynote address at OR Manager Conference

Editor's Note

The OR Manager Conference announces Dan Weberg, PhD, MHI, RN, FAAN, executive director of nursing workforce development and innovation at Kaiser Permanente, as the opening keynote speaker.

Dr. Weberg—ER nurse turned executive, innovation expert, and nationally recognized thought leader—will deliver “Healthcare’s ‘Blockbuster Moment’: Innovation, disruption, and the future of nursing” on Tuesday, October 28, at 8 am, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

Nursing today stands at a defining moment, much like Blockbuster did before the rise of streaming. As healthcare undergoes rapid transformation, the profession must decide whether to cling to outdated models or lead the reinvention of care delivery. With over 4 million nurses nationwide, the opportunity to influence policy, redesign systems, and elevate care has never been greater.

Dr. Weberg will explore how nurse leaders are driving innovation across perioperative services to create scalable change. From disrupting traditional staffing models to launching ventures backed by venture capital, nurses are no longer just adapting to the future—they are building it. Attendees will gain insight into the science of innovation, real-world examples of nurse-led transformation, and practical strategies for influencing healthcare at every level.

The OR Manager Conference is the premier learning experience supporting the perioperative leadership community. Attendees can still register to join us for the 2025 OR Manager Conference at the lowest rates of the year. Enter promo code LOYAL during registration to save an extra $100.
