Increases, decreases to periop travel nurse pay

As of June 1, there were 125,937 active RN travel jobs on the Vivian Health platform, a national healthcare hiring marketplace, the June 7 Becker’s Hospital Review reports.

Perioperative specialties with the largest increases and decreases in average weekly travel nurse pay in May, compared to April, were:

• Preoperative—April $2,482.62 vs May $2,596.94, 4.60% increase
• SICU-surgical intensive care—April $2,519.51 vs May $2,610.62, 3.62% increase
• Ambulatory surgery—April $2,665.46 vs May 2,462.88, 7.60% decrease
• GI lab—April $2,764.49 vs May $2,617.81, 5.31% decrease.

For jobs available on Vivian as of June 6, the average weekly salary for a travel OR nurse is $2,580, but can pay up to $6,030 per week.
