The Joint Commission has identified five requirements for accreditation that healthcare organizations were most frequently found as “non compliant” during surveys and reviews from January 1 to June 30, 2015.
They are:
- Laboratory and Point-of-Care Testing QSA.01.01.01: The laboratory participates in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved proficiency testing programs for regulated analytes (79% non compliant).
- Critical Access Hospital EC.02.05.01: The critical access hospital manages risks associated with its utility systems (63% non compliant).
- Critical Access Hospital IC.02.02.01: The critical access hospital reduces the risk of infections associated with medical equipment, devices, and supplies (60% non compliant).
- Hospitals EC.02.06.01: The hospital establishes and maintains a safe, functional environment (59% non compliant).
- Hospitals IC.02.02.01: The hospital reduces the risk of infections associated with medical equipment, devices, and supplies (54% non compliant).
