The Joint Commission launches UNIFY 2025 to advance patient safety, healthcare quality

The Joint Commission has announced UNIFY 2025: Convening for Quality, a national event set for September 16-17, 2025, in Washington, DC. The two-day gathering will bring together healthcare leaders and policymakers to address critical challenges in patient safety and healthcare quality.

According to the announcement, the event will focus on key issues such as artificial intelligence (AI), the responsible use of health data, performance improvement, and pediatric emergency readiness. Attendees will receive updates on Joint Commission accreditation and certification, as well as insights into emerging healthcare trends and best practices. The sessions aim to provide data-driven strategies for healthcare organizations seeking long-term improvements.

Marc Siegel, MD, a senior medical analyst for Fox News and clinical professor at NYU Langone Medical Center, will deliver a keynote address. The event will also feature discussions and panels with the National Quality Forum, the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), ARCHANGELS, and other organizations.

The event is intended to empower stakeholders with knowledge to improve healthcare performance and value. President and CEO Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change. “The Joint Commission is uniquely positioned to convene key leaders across healthcare to share actionable insights,” he stated in the announcement.
