The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience has finalized its National Plan for Health Workforce Well-Being, the October 3 AHAToday reports.
The plan, which builds on 6 years of work among 200 participants, including the American Hospital Association (AHA), identifies goals and actions to help healthcare leaders, educators, governing boards, payers, and federal agencies achieve healthcare workforce well-being.
AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack and Chief Nursing Officer Robyn Begley, CEO of AHA’s American Organization for Nursing Leadership, said in a statement that this plan helps address healthcare workforce needs by proposing solutions that eliminate regulatory and policy barriers that impede daily work and by promoting strategies and research to improve well-being and mental health.
