Editor's Note
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on October 26 announced a new cybersecurity-focused toolkit with resources for healthcare organizations and the public health sector.
The two agencies have been working with the Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) Cybersecurity Working Group over the past year to consolidate tools, resources, training, and information to help organizations boost their cybersecurity measures. The new toolkit includes CISA’s Cyber Hygiene Services, which scans systems against known vulnerabilities. It also includes HHS’s Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices, a guide for effective cybersecurity practices for healthcare organizations of all sizes.
The HHS and HSCC’s HPH Sector Cybersecurity Framework Implementation Guide is also included, which helps organizations assess their cybersecurity measures and link it to their broader security and privacy management strategies.
The toolkit can be found at www.CISA.gov/healthcare.
