Newsweek announces 2025 rankings for best ASCs in the US

Editor's Note

Newsweek on October 16, in collaboration with Statista, released its 2025 rankings for America's Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), recognizing 650 top-performing ASCs across the US. These rankings highlight excellence in outpatient surgical care, showcasing centers that provide efficient, high-quality procedures such as colonoscopies, cataract surgical procedures, knee repairs, and biopsies. ASCs play a crucial role in modern healthcare, offering same-day surgical services that reduce costs and avoid the need for hospitalization, noted the press release.

The evaluation process considered over 5,000 ASCs nationwide, assessing factors such as quality of care, patient experience, and data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Peer recommendations from medical professionals were a significant component of the rankings, with both peer input and CMS data each contributing 45% to the overall score. Patient experience accounted for 7.5%, while accreditation status made up the remaining 2.5%.

Josh Smith, Newsweek’s director of growth and strategic partnerships, emphasized the rankings' role in helping Americans make informed healthcare decisions. He noted that ASCs are vital for providing accessible and cost-effective surgical care, and the rankings aim to guide patients toward the best options in their regions.

Some of the top-ranked ASCs for 2025 include Mayo Clinic’s Scottsdale facility in Arizona; Premier Surgery Center in Little Rock, Arkansas; Cedars Sinai’s 90210 Surgery Medical Center in California; and Emory Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia. The list features ASCs from diverse regions, illustrating the wide availability of high-quality outpatient surgical services across the country.
