First time participants in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program must attest to meaningful use for a 90-day reporting period by October 1 to avoid a payment adjustment in 2017, the September 26 AHA News reports.
Returning participants must report for a full calendar year, though CMS has proposed a 90-day reporting period and will announce any changes to the program once final.
Eligible professionals, hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Medicare Electronic Health Records Incentive Program for the first time in 2016 must attest to meaningful use for a continuous 90-day reporting period by Oct. 1 to avoid a payment adjustment in 2017.
