Editor's Note
Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) administrators and managers trying to keep pace with the rapid growth in their facilities will not want to miss the robust outpatient surgery education offered at the 2019 OR Manager Conference.
On Tuesday, September 17, Beverly Kirchner, BSN, RN, CNOR, CASC, chief compliance officer for SurgeryDirect, LLC, will lead a preconference workshop, “Volume versus Value: ASCs Transition to Value-Based Care.” Kirchner will explain the relationship between the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement program and value-based care, and she will help managers prepare for the bundled payment models expected to be adopted at ASCs in the near future.
In multiple breakout sessions, other prominent ASC leaders will address topics such as preadmission and patient selection, competency assessment, and emergency preparedness. In addition, Gina Throneberry, MBA, RN, CASC, CNOR, will share the latest updates on 2020 regulations and quality measure reporting criteria. Throneberry is director of education and clinical affairs for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.
