State Boards of Nursing are investigating those who allegedly bought fraudulent nursing degrees and diplomas as part of a widespread scheme to fast-track the process to take the National Council Licensure Examination, the January 27 Becker’s Hospital Review reports.
Twenty-five individuals have been charged by the Justice Department for their alleged participation in the sale of more than 7,600 of the fraudulent transcripts from three shuttered nursing schools in Florida.
In a January 26 statement, American Nurses Association President Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, RN, said: “There are no shortcuts in nursing—our patients and clients depend on us,” Becker’s reports.
