Editor's Note
On September 17, World Patient Safety Day, The Joint Commission is partnering with the World Health Organization in recognizing the shared commitment to safe, equitable, high quality care for all and asks all accredited organizations and partners to join in the recognition.
This year’s theme, “Engaging patients for patient safety,” and slogan, “Elevate the voice of patients,” recognize the crucial role patients, families, and caregivers play in the safety of healthcare.
The day aims to influence stakeholders, such as policy makers, healthcare leaders, and patient organizations to work collaboratively toward co-designing healthcare policies and safety interventions that will ultimately enhance healthcare safety globally.
