Building leadership diversity
Brian Dawson, MSN, RN-BC, CNOR, CSSM, says: “Most of my career, I’ve been the only one in a room of others—the only nurse, the only male, or the only Black person. Even today, although I work in an extremely diverse company, when we recently celebrated the work of a board quality committee I was part of, I was the only minority person present.”
