In 2016, after 10 years of research and validation, Cassendra Munro’s Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessment Scale for Perioperative Patients (Munro Scale) was made available for use in the perioperative setting and was added to the AORN Prevention of Pressure Ulcers Tool Kit.
